Papalote Taco House

This particular restaurant is one that boasts a rather large menu, ranging from tacos, sopes, tortas, and even more. This shows that there truly is something for everyone! There are two different locations: one on Research and one of South Lamar, meaning that regardless of which direction you’re in, you have a good chance of being able to try them out for yourself.

Polvo’s Mexican Restaurant

This is a restaurant that many Austin residents seem to enjoy thanks in large part to its child-friendly environment; however, it also has a delicious salsa bar, homemade flour tortillas, and, according to many residents, perhaps the best breakfast tacos in the entire city!

Veracruz al Natural

Here, the entire mood is one of being completely natural as far as the food is concerned. Initially launched by two sisters who came from Veracruz, this is not a simple brick-and-mortar restaurant, but rather three different food trailers on Manchaca, La Frontera, and Cesar Chavez in Round Rock. Each one serves homemade tortilla and salsa along with tacos that are 100% made-to-order.

Out of the South Austin neighborhood, this particular food trailer is one that holds the distinction of having made the 2017 Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Joints list. Even better is the fact that Valentinas will soon be opening up its own brick-and-mortar establishment on Manchaca in Round Rock. They have a great many items on their menu, and every single one of them is delicious, whether you choose carnitas, pulled pork, pulled chicken, or smoked brisket.

El Primo

This food trailer that’s located on South First seems rather unassuming at first glance; however, they offer what many Austin residents say are some of the best street tacos that they have ever had. If you have children who may not enjoy corn tortillas or barbacoa, however, El Primo offers basic flour tortillas as well as breakfast taco ingredients.
